1. The service
BioQ (bioq.bio) is a search engine and research agent for public biological data, operated by AI3 Inc. (“we”). These terms apply to the website, the app and the API.
2. Accounts
You need an account to search. You sign in with Google or with a one-time email link, and you are responsible for activity under your account and your API keys. Keep keys secret; revoke a key if it may have leaked.
3. Acceptable use
- Use BioQ for research, education and product development. Do not try to get around plan limits (for example with multiple free accounts), resell raw access to the API, probe or disrupt our systems, or use BioQ to build a competing copy of its database.
- Automated access is welcome through the API within your plan’s limits.
4. Data and its sources
- The data BioQ serves comes from public databases, including UniProt, MGnify, Pfam, PDB, AlphaFold DB, ChEMBL, DrugCentral, Guide to Pharmacology, ClinVar, STRING, BioGRID, DepMap and NCBI RefSeq. It remains under the terms each provider publishes, and you are responsible for following them when you reuse it, including attribution.
- Your queries, sequences and results belong to you. We do not claim rights in them.
5. Not medical advice
BioQ is a research tool. It is not intended for diagnosing, treating or making clinical decisions about any person. Variant classifications and other records reflect what their sources submitted.
6. Agent answers
Answers written by the agent are generated by a language model. They cite the queries they rely on, but they can still be incomplete or wrong. Check the cited records before you rely on an answer.
7. Plans and payment
The Free plan has daily limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are set up with our team during early access; prices, billing period and payment method are confirmed in writing before you are charged. We may change limits or prices with at least 30 days’ notice for paid plans.
8. Availability
We work to keep BioQ available and accurate, but the service is provided “as is”. Databases can be temporarily unloaded or out of date, and the service may change or be interrupted.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using BioQ at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the Seoul Central District Court, unless the law requires otherwise.
