Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
- Sign-in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, stored on our side only as a one-way fingerprint.
- API keys: a short display prefix and a one-way fingerprint of each key. We cannot recover a key.
- Usage: how many queries, sequence searches and agent questions you made each day, used to apply plan limits.
- Plan requests: the name, email, organisation and message you send from the pricing page.
Your queries and sequences
- Queries are processed to answer them. Your search history is kept in your browser, not in your account.
- Homology search runs on our own servers. Your sequences are never forwarded to third-party search services. To make repeat searches fast, results are cached under a one-way fingerprint of the sequence for up to 30 days.
- When you ask the agent a question, pasted sequences are replaced with placeholders before the text reaches the language model, which is operated by AI3. Questions are processed to produce the answer and are not stored in your account or used to train models.
- Our servers keep short-lived operational logs (up to 30 days) to keep the service reliable and to stop abuse.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, show advertising, or use your queries, sequences or questions to train models.
Who processes data for us
Google, for sign-in when you choose it, and our cloud hosting and email delivery providers, who process data only to run the service for us. Data may be processed in the Republic of Korea and in other countries where these providers operate.
Cookies and analytics
We use a sign-in cookie and remember your language choice. Your theme and search history are stored in your browser. We count page views with cookie-free analytics that does not identify you. Questions and sequences you search are kept out of page addresses, so they are not part of those counts. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account exists and deleted within 30 days after you ask us to delete it. Usage counts are kept for up to 13 months. Plan requests are kept for up to 3 years.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop processing, by writing to support@bioq.bio. We reply within 10 days.
